| Description | Following the acclaimed Objects Without Pain (2023), which established Great Falls as one of the most uncompromising bands in modern noise rock and sludge, the trio returns with The Bite That Grows Up. Despite setting out to create a more restrained record, the result is their most brutal and unrelenting work to date. Having toured with Botch and Primitive Man, as well as performed at renowned festivals such as Roadburn, the band continues to build its reputation as one of the genre''s most powerful live acts. Working once again with producer Scott Evans (Neurosis, Sumac), they deliver an album packed with chaotic rhythms, dissonant riffs, and intense emotional weight. Frontman Demian Johnston cuts straight to the core with concise, brutally honest lyrics exploring guilt, regret, and human vulnerability. Driven by Nick Parks'' lightning-fast drumming and Shane Mehling''s massive bass tone, the songs shift between devastating aggression and unexpected moments of reflection. The Bite That Grows Up is a dark and unforgiving album that further cements Great Falls'' position as one of heavy music''s most compelling and unpredictable bands. |
