| Description | Mortem began in 1989 as a precursor to Arcturus, releasing the cult demo Slow Death with contributions from Euronymous, Dead and Hellhammer. After disbanding, members shaped key Norwegian black metal acts. In 2019 they returned with Ravnsvart, reviving their early brutality with new atmospheric elements, followed by re-recorded Slow Death tracks. Their new album "Mørketid" expands the sound further, mixing monumental mid-tempo riffs with hyperspeed assaults, driven by Sverd''s keyboards, Hellhammer''s drums and Marius Vold''s fierce vocals.
