| Description | Purgatory is the sixth studio album from Canadian deathcore pioneers Despised Icon. Following the acclaimed comeback album Beast, the record sees the band pushing their signature fusion of technical death metal precision, hardcore aggression, and crushing breakdowns into darker and more atmospheric territory. Lyrically, the album explores themes of personal struggle, suffering, inner conflict, and the harsh realities of modern society, wrapped in an unrelenting wall of blast beats, dual-vocal brutality, and punishing grooves. Purgatory expands Despised Icon’s signature deathcore sound with darker atmosphere and more dynamic songwriting. The album was produced with longtime collaborator Yannick St-Amand and mixed by Christian Donaldson for a massive modern sound. The record further cemented Despised Icon’s status as one of the most influential and respected bands in deathcore history. Marbled Vinyl LP. |
