Description | Gehennah started out in 1992 in Forshaga and Karlstad, Sweden. After two demo-tapes they debuted with Hardrocker released on Primitive Art Records in 1995. The band gained a loyal following with their Venom and Motörhead inspired old-school thrash and also released the now infamous anti-christmas themed single "No Fucking Christmas" before leaving Primitive Art Records for Osmose Productions. During the years with Osmose they released the albums King of the Sidewalk and Decibel Rebel and toured with among other bands Impaled Nazarene, Angelcorpse and Disfear. Some chaotic years followed and the band eventually split up. In 2013 founding member and bass player Ronnie Ripper left the recently re-formed Gehennah and was replaced by Charley Knuckleduster. The new blood resulted in the band starting doing shows again and 2014 Gehennah released the four song 7 EP Metal Police, the first release in more than 10 years. 2015 finally sees the long awaited reissues of their now classic albums of the ''90s. The band just sign a deal now with Metal Blade. |
