| Description | Long before flannel shirts became fashionable in Seattle, DINOSAUR JR. caused an earthquake in the rock underground that is still unparalleled today. In fact, with their blend of melodic bass lines, furious drumming, breathtaking guitar wizardry and extremely laid-back vocals, they provided the blueprint for what is now understood as "alternative rock". Two guys, one band, two anti-rock stars: Lou Barlow and J. Mascis formed DINOSAUR JR., probably the most important indie band of the eighties. With their first three records, they laid the foundation for the commercial breakthrough of alternative rock in the early nineties. |
