| Description | Mournful Congregation were formed in 1993. From the beginning the band endeavoured to create Extreme Funeral Doom Metal. Utilising agonising guitar harmonies, ultra-slow drum-beats, and varying vocal styles, they continue to elaborate upon these foundations to this day. Until 2009, Mournful Congregation remained a strict studio-based band. However, in 2009 they played their first live performances in Australia after 15 years of existence, followed with a 17-date European tour. 2011, they delivered their fourth studio album, "The Book of Kings".
