| Description | Plector is a death/thrash metal band from Umeå, Sweden formed in december 2006 by Erik Engbo (guitar, vocals), Vilhelm Norberg (drums) and Björn Algers (bass guitar, backing vocals). The band made their first a demo called "Äkta demo" in 2007 and quickly made a video for the song "Get drunk or die trying" which got a hype through out the internet and swedish media. The video was played on the Swedish TV-channel TV4 and got a great review from Daniel Breitholtz (A&R manager for Sony music). The band set out to play their first set of shows were they shared stages with Feral and Ghamorean amongs others. At the end of the year they recorded their second recording "Suppressed Aggression" which they self-released as an EP in early 2008. The band was instantly booked to play at the House of Metal festival 2008 with bands such as Meshuggah, Unleashed and God Among Insects. After the festival more shows followed around sweden promoting their new release. In 2009 they entered the studio to recorded their debut album ''Dark & Spiteful'' together with well known metal producer Ronnie Björnström (Ghamorean, Hate Ammo, Assailant, Bone Gnawer...) and the recording was sent out to different labels. A video was made for the song ''Spiteful Love'' which got amazing attention from all over the United States of America and the attention from the video landed them a 6 day tour in Texas, USA. The Video has now over 30,000 plays and 165 ratings. In 2010 the band made a deal with umeå based extreme label Discouraged Records and shoot a new video for the album song Alcoholic Refuge which got huge response (57474 plays and 642 ratings). As a result Plector were booked to play in Germany at the Metallergrillen festival as headliners. Directly after germany the band travelled back to USA to play a three week tour (17 gigs) with Turbid North and Vaste Burai. After the tour bassplayer Björn announced leaving the band and was replaced by Patrik Wall from Apostasy and they are now finally ready to officially release their debut album Dark & Spiteful upon the world. |
