| Description | Founded in Bergen in 1992, Helheim entered the Norwegian Black Metal scene with a 1993 demo influenced by Bathory and Venom. Though raw, it showed early promise. Their 1994 second demo Niðr Ok Norðr Liggr Helvegr marked a turning point, featuring female vocals, Viking and folk influences, and experimental elements like trumpets.
