Description | The Members are an English punk band originally formed in Surrey in 1977, a favourite of the late great John Peel. They are mostly known for their hits Solitary Confinement, Sound of the Suburbs, Offshore Banking Business and Working Girl, which was an MTV smash in the USA. In their five page spread on the band, Record Collector magazine called The Members ''The Dazzling, Resurrected Punk Band who Coined the Phrase ''Sound of the Suburbs and played reggae better than The Clash.'' One Law is an exploration of life in current times embracing, amongst other things, themes of suburban despair, social media distraction and urban gentrification. Musically it’s an eclectic mix of pop, punk, disco, surf instrumental and from the band a dose of what else but Baltic reggae. With singer Nicky Tesco retired from rigorous touring and recording for health reasons, the band now comprises of original members JC Carroll, the Ray Davies of Punk Rock on vocals and guitar, inventor of Punk Dub Bass Chris Payne, guitarist Nigel Bennett and former Fad Gadget drummer Nick Cash. |
