| Description | Formed in 1985 in Wigan, UK, Electro Hippies blended crust punk, hardcore, and grind into a raw, lo-fi assault. Initially planning only, a demo (briefly featuring Jeff Walker of Carcass), they went on to release the seminal The Only Good Punk (Is A Dead One) in 1988, one of Peaceville Records'' first major releases. Recorded in late 1987 at Lion Studios, it became a cult classic, further boosted by a John Peel session. The band split in 1989 but retains a devoted following. |
