Description | Durability, integrity and consistency - these are the hallmarks of Mr. German Metal Udo Dirkschneider and his band U.D.O. Since 1987, the grouping around the two former Accept members Dirkschneider (vocals) and Stefan Kaufmann (guitar) has convinced with pure heavy metal of the first quality. After U.D.O. 2009 with the album Dominator a true triumphal procession, fans and critics are waiting for the successor, the titled with Rev-Raptor and released on May 20. The first single Leatherhead answers the question about the stylish alignment of the new work meaningfully: with Rev-Raptor U.D.O. the logical successor of Dominator. The concise rhythm design with its partly machine-looking grooves is a perfect addition to the traditional and usual outstanding songwriting of the band, Dirkschneider''s concise organ brings even reinforced concrete to the quake and the band sound experienced a further refinement. So the legendary band does not merely reject the glorious past of their Accept days, but sets new accents without denying their roots or losing themselves in confused experiments. U.D.O. are seasoned full professionals, as they have unfortunately become rare nowadays. With the self-reflective half ballad I Give As Good As I Get, Dirkschneider & Co. even outside hard metal sounds, including the accompanying video clip. Even with the cover design, U.D.O. new ways, because there has never been such an eye-catching, bright comic style Artwok like that of Rev-Raptor! But good that U.D.O., whatever they do, are qualitatively a constant. So Rev-Raptor was also recorded in the Roxx Studios by guitarist Stefan Kaufmann. 1981 should become an important year for the young band Accept led by Dirkschneider, who managed the international breakthrough with their Breaker album and which published numerous first-class works in series with Restless And Wild (1982), Balls To The Wall (1983), Metal Heart and Russian Roulette. Then came the break: Gallion figure Dirkschneider starts a solo career with his own band and laid a lightning-clean start: the start with Animal House (1987) succeeds perfectly, with albums such as Mean Machine, Faceless World and Timebomb Dirkschneider also gains respect immediately with new band. and could be besbeskkcritically praise also on the unabated big fan saying. Accept were able to connect to old successes again with Dirkschneider as a returned gallion figure in 1992, but already in 1997 Udo continued his solo career and released the Solid album. While their former Accept colleagues completely retreated from music and scene life, it was Dirkschneider and Stefan Kaufmann who continued to give fans first-class Solinger stainless steel. The ever-growing popularity of U.D.O. had increasingly extensive tours, which did not affect the band in their creativity. Quite the contrary: just the last two studio albums Mastercutor (2007) and Dominator (2009) convinced with unbridled freshness, creativity, joy and liveliness, which now finds its continuation and preliminary highlight in the history of U.D.O.s. |
