Description | EISREGEN started back in 1995 to deliver their morbid messages in German language to the local metalheads, being one of the very first bands in that genre to do so. Today, 18 years and hundreds of shows later, nothing has changed. The German masters of the macabre still have their own cult status in the German metal scene and are now delivering their historical 10th album entitled Todestage. And it is as uncompromising and unique as ever: Todestage walks the thin line between genius and madness, swinging from one to the other. Todestage shows the full spectrum of Thuringian death art: blast beat-driven high speed songs (Höllenfahrt, Familienbande), ballad-like power tracks (Lang Lebe Die Nadel, Seele Mein), typical band hits (Todestag, Mitternacht) as well as pure musical madness (Flötenmongo, Waldgott) - it’s all there in perfection. Lyrically and vocally, master Roth stays true to himself, which will once again excite the band’s huge fan base. The band’s long-time sound engineer Markus Stock manufactured Todestage in his studio Klangschmiede E to one of the best productions ever done there. Guests in the studio were the band’s long-time fellow Martin Schirenc (ex-Pungent Stench, Zombie Inc.) who did some guitar parts and for the first time since the Blutbahnen album, there’s a real violin (played by Frau N. Feind) featured on the album as well. For their 10th album anniversary, EISREGEN deliver their best and most varied album so far and impressively prove that the band still grows after almost twenty years of existence! And EISREGEN will continue doing this, that’s for sure: What would the metal scene be like without one of its most extreme representatives? |
