| Description | THE SECOND ALBUM OF DARK ALIEN AMBIENCE FROM DARKTHRONE''S FENRIZ - NOW AVAILABLE ON PEACEVILLE WITH RARE BONUS TRACKS. Neptune Towers was the project set up by Gylve ''Fenriz'' Nagell of Darkthrone in 1993, with the intention to explore a more ambient-driven style as opposed to that of his main band. Fenriz released 2 albums under the Neptune Towers name, ''Caravans to Empire Algol'' and ''Transmissions from Empire Algol'' which came out the following year. ''Transmissions form Empire Algol'' was originally released in 1994, with all recording and performances once again completed by Fenriz himself. The material was very much focused on a bleak minimalistic soundscape with strong, deep atmospherics. Inspiration came from acts such as Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, and Kraftwerk. This edition of ''Transmissions from Empire Algol'' contains four special bonus tracks taken from the never-released third album ''Space Lab'', originally recorded in 1994. |
