| Description | Winternius, founded in 2016 by Roby Grinder, emerged from Italy''s black metal underground with ties to Sacradis, Spite Extreme Wing, Abysmal Grief, and Necrodeath. Their debut, produced by Tommy Talamanca (Sadist), arrived in 2020. In March 2024, they recorded their second album, Underwater Darkness, marking their return to the international scene. The band''s self-defined "Black Rising Metal" blends 90s Scandinavian extreme metal with classic and progressive elements. Vocals shift from raw black metal rasps to epic tones reminiscent of early Borknagar. |
