Description | Over the past decade, as one half of The Nimmo Brothers, Stevie Nimmo has earned the respect of audiences all over the world. Held in high regard by his peers, he is rightly considered as one of the finest blues musicians on the scene today. His new solo project embraces the blues but marries this with the depth, emotion and power of his own contemporary songwriting, which is heavily influenced by American music. After honing his skills with local bands, Stevie and Brother Alan formed The Nimmo Brothers touring all over the UK, Europe and America for over 15 years, with five successful electric and acoustic CDs to their name. Following a diagnosis of cancer in 2009 Stevie was forced to ease back on his touring schedule with The Nimmo Brothers and spend some months in recovery. During this period, focusing on the style of music Stevie listens to ''off the park'', he wrote most of the songs that now make up The Wynds of Life. The album was recorded in Austin, Texas at The Zone Studios in Dripping Springs, with Michael Ramos - Keys, George Reiff - Bass, Lloyd Maines - Steel Guitars, Pat Manske - Drums, plus special guest David Lee Holt - Guitarist from Storyville. George, Lloyd and Pat are also featured on the current Courtyard Hounds release. |
